Press Release: Towing Museum Enhances Survivor Fund Benefits

Chattanooga, TN, September 29, 2024 – The International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum (ITRHFM) is proud to announce an increase in its death benefit for the families of ITRHFM member companies, now rising to $20,000 per incident.

This enhancement follows a successful pledge drive and exceptional support from the industry, prompting the ITRHFM board of directors to vote for an increase from the previous benefit of $15,000. This benefit applies to families of employees from ITRHFM member companies in good standing, as well as individual members.

“We are thrilled by the industry’s support of the Survivor Fund and are committed to providing greater assistance to the families of our fallen heroes,” said Jeffrey Godwin, co-chairman of the Survivor Fund Committee. “We encourage more companies and individuals in the towing community to join the museum, helping us preserve our history and ensure vital support for families in their time of need.”

Established in 2006, the Survivor Fund was created to offer financial assistance to families who have lost a loved one in the line of service in the towing industry. Since its inception, the fund has approved and paid hundreds of claims, providing crucial support during tragic times. Benefit increases are determined by the fund’s fundraising efforts and investment health.
