Walter E. “Pat” Herring

The morning of December 19, 2019, Pat Herring was driving one of his red Marmon trucks on a state highway not far from his company location. As he drove, Pat had a medical issue and drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic. Pat’s Marmon struck a logging truck and as a result of the crash Pat was killed instantly leaving behind his wife, two sons, and two grandchildren.

Pat was a great guy. I worked for him for about 10 years. I can’t tell you how many times he was right there beside me in the mud, snow or rain, working, the same for his 2 sons. Pat was also a good friend, even after I quit working for him, he stayed in touch, always answered when I called and even called me sometimes on a Sunday morning.
He was more than just a business owner.
