Ricardo Arturo Hernandez

During the evening rush hour of June 7, 1999, Ricardo Hernandez was working with the Freeway Service Patrol changing a tire for a motorist. Ricardo had asked the vehicle owner to sit in the cab of his truck for safety reasons but as he worked, his own safety precautions were no match for a car whose driver sideswiped the disabled vehicle and his truck. Ricardo was seriously injured in the collision and the motorist drove away without stopping. Ricardo was hospitalized and fought to live as he laid in ICU.  He passed away June 17 from his injuries leaving behind his wife and infant son. We respectfully add Ricardo Arturo Hernandez to our “Wall of the Fallen”.

Hello and Thank you for such remembrance and kind words. 27 yrs today Wednesday 6/17/2026. Where was Ricardo added to. I’ve gone through the entire site and can’t find him. I’m interested in locating him so I can show my son that his father was recognized as a fallen one of the towing industry.

    June 17, 2026 — 27 Years Without You

    My beloved Ricardo,

Today marks 27 years since you left us, yet not a day has passed that you have not been in my heart. The pain of losing you so suddenly has never truly faded, but neither has the love, pride, and gratitude I feel for the man you were.

You left this world while helping someone in need, doing your job with courage, dedication, and kindness. Your selflessness continues to inspire me. Although our son was only an infant when you passed, he grew up hearing about the incredible father, husband, and hero you were.

Twenty-seven years later, your memory lives on in the lives you touched, in our family, and in every story shared by those who had the honor of knowing you. Seeing your name remembered and honored reminds us that your sacrifice has not been forgotten.

I miss your smile, your laughter, your strength, and the future we dreamed of together. Until we meet again, know that you are loved beyond words and remembered every single day.

Forever your wife Mila & Son Adonis Richard. ❤️

In loving memory of Ricardo Arturo Hernandez
