Dwayne Tyree Coleman
Dwayne Coleman was working to assist a motorist on the interstate on June 27, 2026. His tow truck was in front of his customer’s vehicle to tow it due to multiple flat tires. A driver in another vehicle on the interstate did not slow down or move over and instead attempted to merge, striking Dwayne and his customer. Dwayne’s injuries were catastrophic. He was transported to the hospital but the injuries sustained in the accident were too severe. Dwayne passed on July 10, 2026 leaving his wife behind.
There are moments in life that forever change us, and July 10, 2026, became one of those moments for me. My beloved and only son, D’wayne, was called home at the age of 47.
As a mother, there is no greater blessing than the gift of a child. From the day D’wayne was born, he filled my life with love, hope, laughter, and purpose. Although he was 47 years old, he never stopped being my baby.
One of my most treasured memories is a Christmas when I believed he wouldn’t be able to come home. I had accepted that I wouldn’t see him that year, but then, to my complete surprise, he walked through the door. The joy I felt in that moment is something I will carry in my heart forever. That memory reminds me that the greatest gifts are not wrapped in paper—they are wrapped in love.
Today, my heart is broken beyond words. The silence left by your absence is overwhelming, and there is an emptiness that only God can carry me through. Yet even in my tears, I hold on to His promises. I believe you are now in the presence of our Heavenly Father, where there is no more pain, no more suffering, and perfect peace.
D’wayne, thank you for allowing me the honor of being your mother. Thank you for every hug, every conversation, every smile, and every memory that has become a part of who I am. Your life mattered. Your love mattered. You will always matter.
Although I must let you rest, I will never let go of the love we shared. You will forever live in my heart, in my prayers, and in every cherished memory. I look forward to the glorious day when, by God’s grace, we will see one another again.
Until then, rest peacefully, my sweet son.
Mommy loves you with a love that neither time nor death can diminish.
