Serafino “Finn” Savaglio

In the early morning hours of January 7, 1969, Finn Savaglio arrived on scene to pull a tractor trailer from a canal next to the highway.  On arrival he was worried for the truck driver and worked to hook up the recovery.  He had setup for the recovery and was attempting to bring the tractor trailer to a position to save the driver.  As he worked, the cable failed and the block flew back, striking Finn in the head, killing him instantly.  Finn left behind a wife and four children.
