Phillip F. Amsden

Late the night of November 5, 2010, Phillip Amsden was working to change the right rear tire on a tractor trailer on the right shoulder of the Interstate.  As he worked to add air to the tire, an approaching SUV accelerated in an attempt to merge onto the Interstate.  The driver of the SUV was drunk and struck the tractor trailer.

The impact caused the disabled truck to crash into Phillip’s service truck, pinning Phillip in the process.  Phillip was pronounced dead at the scene and leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
