Weldon T. Wright has spent more than five decades shaping the towing and recovery industry through innovation, leadership, and service. Beginning his career in 1971 with Weeks Equipment, he quickly rose through the ranks to become Vice President, demonstrating a natural ability to lead and improve operations. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to own King Automotive Distributorship, giving him valuable insight into the business side of the towing profession. Wright’s expertise eventually brought him to Miller Industries, where his hands-on experience helped guide the development of groundbreaking equipment such as the JD rotator and Poly Body—advancements that improved safety and efficiency for operators nationwide.

Beyond his technical achievements, Wright has been a tireless advocate for the towing industry. He played an active role in legislative efforts including the Fair Tow Act (HR3247), ensuring that towers have a voice in shaping fair and effective regulations. Known for his mentorship, problem-solving skills, and genuine care for others, he has earned the respect of colleagues and industry leaders alike.

Wright’s dedication extends far beyond the profession. Alongside his wife Linda and daughter Kristin Hanna, he has supported numerous charitable efforts, including Schools for Haiti and local youth sports programs. His involvement with Grace Family Church and community initiatives reflects a lifelong commitment to service and integrity. With more than 50 years of contributions to innovation, advocacy, and education, Weldon T. Wright stands as a pillar of the towing community and an enduring example of leadership and compassion.

Tow Equipment/Product Innovation

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.

Exemplary Dedication

Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.

Industry Leadership

Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.

Professional Achievement

Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
