Luc Migneault

Born September 21, 1964 in Ontario, Canada Luc owns and operates D&L Towing in Timmins, Ontario as well as serves as lead instructor for NRC Industries. He began his carreer in the industry over 30 years ago in 1980.

Luc’s passion and dedication to improve the methods of recovery in Canada for operators is second to none. He has served and been active in the Ontario Recovery Group as both President and Vice President, as well as the Provincial Towing Association in Ontario and has received numerous awards for his commitment to the industry including Ontario Towman of the Year in 2011, Wreckmaster of the Year in 2000 and the Donnie Cruise Memorial Award in 2004.

His numerous certifications and experience have led him to work with and train the Kuwait and U.S. Armed Forces in recovery techniques as well as the Canadian Armed Forces. He has been an active writer for Tow Canada Magazine as well as American Towman sharing knowledge and experience to thousands of students.

During his terms with the Ontario Recovery Group Luc worked hard and was instrumental in:

  • Changing portions of the Canada Highway Traffic Act to protect towers from liability while working the scene of a recovery.
  • Improving the annual permit to allow moving a wreck to a safer location before performing towing and recovery.
  • Forcing insurance companies to be held accountable and pay for services under liability coverage.
  • Educating towers and awareness of the dangers of wreck chasing.

Luc has been an active father and supporter of youth athletics as well as other community organizations supporting schools, churches, health care centers and crime stopper organizations by raising funds, dedicating time and services as well as challenging others to meet his efforts.

Tow Equipment/Product Innovation

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.

Exemplary Dedication

Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.

Industry Leadership

Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.

Professional Achievement

Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
