Louis Braun
Louis Braun was born March 9, 1922 in Mulhouse, France. He is married to Elvire Braun and they have two sons, Fernand, who lives in Big Pine Key, Florida, and Christian who works with his father in Amelot, near Paris, France.
In the early days of World War II, Louis Braun, a soldier in the Army of France, was imprisoned by the enemy. Three times he escaped; each time he was recaptured. Twice, he was sentenced to death by firing squad, but each time was spared. Then freed by the US Forces under General Patton, he set out to find his wife, Elvire, who was somewhere in Russia or Poland. His long search was successful and they went into the automotive service business in Amelot, not far from the International Airport near Paris.
He is now the President of CARD 77, Gardement d’Assistance, Routiere et Depannage, the association of firms which do law-enforcement towing in his area. He is vice-president of La Federation Francais, which has 600 depannage member firms in France. The company has one of the country’s largest, most attractive, and most diversified fleets. It was honored to receive in 1989 the Tow Times award for the world’s most attractive company in the large fleet business.
The professionalism practiced at all times in the service of this gentle man, together with his pleasing personality, has elevated him to the position of eminence in his native land in the motor transportation industry.
