Pat Tucker

In 1945, Chico Service & Garage was established by Pat’s father, Donald O. Tucker, with a 1937 Dodge Weaver hand-crank truck. Pat’s grandfather, Harry Tucker ran a small grocery store there. In 1950, a 1948 Ford F-500 with a Holmes 515 hoist was purchased as a second truck. In 1954, Pat began working in the business doing odd jobs and in 1958 began driving. In 1961, he became a full time employee and in 1965 became a journeyman mechanic. In 1966, he became a partner in the company by purchasing an F-600.

In 1971, Chico Service &: Towing was re-established by second generation tower, Pat Tucker after buying his father out of business. In 1972, a 1963 Peterbilt with a Holmes 750 and a 1953 Kenworth with a Holmes 750 were purchased.

In 1981, Chico Towing was renamed again to reflect the sale of the repair business to focus on towing and recovery. In 1981, the business established a dispatch service and the county’s largest answering service. In 1994, Stacey Tucker joined the company as third generation ownership.

Washington Tow Truck Association -1965- current, Board of Director; 1978-1979, Past President, Past Secretary, Past Treasurer, Past Vice President, active in NW Regional Tow Show planning, active in legislative issues leading to six major bills signed into law.

TRAA – 1983 – current, Member 1983-1996, Board of Director for Washington; 1991-1993, 4th Vice President, 1993-1997, 3rd Vice President. Committees include: Budget, Membership, Past Chair of Grievance and Past Co-Chair of legislative.

1990 – current, Board of Director and 1st Vice President for Kitsap County Fair and Rodeo; Chapter Member of Silverdale Chamber of Commerce, Charter Member of Silverdale lions Club, Charter Member of Silverdale Moose Club, 30 year member of Bremerton Elks Club, TOWED Program Participant, County Wide “Clunker Clean Up” Program, Assistant to Fire Districts, Pee Wee Sports, etc ……… loves fishing, hunting and traveling in his motor home!

Tow Equipment/Product Innovation

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.

Exemplary Dedication

Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.

Industry Leadership

Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.

Professional Achievement

Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
