Maggie Ramos

Maggie Ramos is Vice President of Sunshine Towing, located in Miami Florida. Sunshine Towing has been providing towing and recovery services since 1992. Sunshine currently provides services for several police municipalities, and Road Ranger services for the Florida Department of Transportation.

Maggie Ramos immersed herself full time into the family owned towing business alongside her husband Alexis Ramos in 1994. She juggled dispatching calls, processing payroll, and managed the day-to-day business operations from home – while raising their three children Alexis Margaret (27), Ashley Marie (26) and Austin Michael (23).

Maggie Ramos has successfully managed 11 Florida Department of Transportation Road Ranger contracts in the past 22 years. Maggie Ramos has “hands on” experience in Incident Management and Motorist Assistance programs in the South Florida area. Maggie has been a pro-active project manager involved in daily operations with the FDOT Sunguide Road Ranger Programs in Districts 4 and 6 since 1999. She is an active member of Miami Dade, Monroe and Broward Traffic Incident Management Teams.

Maggie currently manages FDOT District 6 (Miami Dade) Road Ranger contract. The Road Ranger fleet has 53 trucks ranging from light duty pickups, wreckers, flatbeds and a Heavy-Duty wrecker dedicated to the program.

Active within the towing industry and the community, Sunshine Towing is a member of the Professional Wrecker Operators of Florida (PWOF) and a founding member of the Sunshine State Towing Association (SSTA). Sunshine Towing has been a member of the International Towing Museum since 2016 and a faithful supporter of the Survivors Fund.

Sunshine has been privileged to be the presenting sponsor for the “Towers with a Heart” Golf Tournament for three years, promoting stateside and nationwide awareness of the Move Over Law. They also support local programs such as the “Breanna Vergara Foundation 5K” annual walk, bringing awareness of the necessity of pediatric heart screenings to identify children at risk of sudden cardiac arrest (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome) and Faith’s Place Autism Outreach program which provides scholarships ensuring autistic children receive early intervention and needed therapies so they can develop to their fullest potential.

Maggie Ramos was featured in the Woman of Towing series in Tow Times magazine in March of 2016.
