Robert L. Unruh, II

Robert “Bobby” Unruh was working to load a disabled commercial vehicle on the side of the Interstate in Tucumcari, New Mexico on the afternoon of February 19, 2017. As he worked to direct traffic around the work being performed by another operator, an 80-year-old man driving down the interstate came directly at the work scene.

Bobby was able to call out an alarm and to push a co-worker to safety but did not make it out of harm’s way himself. The vehicle hit Bobby, killing him instantly. Bobby is survived by his three children, his parents and other family members.
