Who Better to Tell the Towing and Recovery Industry’s Story than Us?
Since 1985 the Towing Museum has been in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee telling the story of not only the first tow truck but the years of history and those that have helped drive the industry to where it is today. Start your tour in our theater room — complete with old-style movie theater seating — with a brief but informative history of the invention of the tow truck as well as the evolution of the Museum. After that, embark on the self-guided tour of our over 24 tow trucks, worlds largest toy tow truck collection and our vintage gas pumps and pedal cars. Our museum offers something for every age – from Tator Tot, our interactive mini tow truck for kids to our World’s Fastest tow truck that hit an average lap time of 109 on the Talladega speedway!
