Harold W. Borhauer II

Harold W. Borhauer II better known as Hal Borhauer was born in Kentfield, California.  Hal is happily married to Lynda and has three children and two grandchildren.  Hal started his towing career in 1971 with Northland Towing located in Flagstaff, Arizona.  In 1976 Hal took over as General Manager for Shamrock Towing in Phoenix, Arizona until he changed positions and became President of Talon Towing.  In 1979 Hal and Lynn started their own business and purchased Shamrock Towing in 1983.  In 1999 they merged their business into United Road Services of Albany, New York and Hal worked for another year as General Manager and then stepped into the position of President of Towing Operations for United Road until 2003.  Hal now stays occupied with his company called HLN, Inc. dba My Eye Investigations which is an Arizona licensed private investigation firm.  Hal has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Chapter of the National Safety Council where he has also served as Chairman and presently serves as Secretary.  Hal has been a member of the President’s Cabinet, a member of the Board of Directors and a Treasurer for TRAA.  He has been a member of the Arizona Towing Advisory Council as well as a board member of the Towing & Recovery Insurance Group.  Hal was a co-founder for the Arizona Professional Towing & Recovery Association and has also been a board member for the Interstate Towing Association.  Hal has received many awards throughout the years, too many to mention, however, some of his awards include the TRAA President’s Special Award, the TRAA Distinguished Service Award and the Centennial Packbackers Humanitarian Award.

Tow Equipment/Product Innovation

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.

Exemplary Dedication

Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.

Industry Leadership

Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.

Professional Achievement

Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
