Gerardo Cortez Gonzalez was born in 1950 in Monterrey, Mexico and has been in the tow business for 52 years, he is the founder of Gruas Monterrey , parent company of 6 other companies related to equipment and accessories distributorships, safety training centers, towing services , rigging and lifting services.
Gerardo holds a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Degree from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. He has been National Counselor for CANACAR , Mexicos largest Transport Association and he is an active board member for ANE Gruas AC, the biggest national association of towing businesses in Mexico. His role in these Associations contribute up to now, to the best practices in the towing industry in the country, from legislation and regulations negotiations with authorities to the safety and protection of drivers in local, state and federal roads. He has received numerous awards for his contribution to the industry.
Mr. Cortez has dedicated his life to the towing & recovery business sector and his presence in the industry over the years inspires many mexican business owners to continue the process of bettering the sector through an active participation in the political, social and economic areas that conform the industry.

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.
Exemplary Dedication
Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.
Industry Leadership
Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.
Professional Achievement
Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
