Mark R. Parsons
Mike was educated at Dr. Radcliffs’ school in Steeple Aston, then went to work as an apprentice for Hartwells of Oxford, the Ford dealer. He moved to Northants in 1955 to help run the local garage with his father, mother and sister, while continuing his apprenticeship and attending the technical college in Northampton. In 1961 they relocated their business to Harpole, Northants in order to be closer to the recently opened M-1 motorway. They also changed the company name to Freeways Motors, ltd., which remains today.
Over the years Mike assumed responsibility for the family business, bringing his own four children into the operation. Their outstanding operation now includes twenty specialty vehicles dedicated to the recovery and transportation of vehicles throughout Europe and the United Kingdom. They have won many honors including: A A National Agent of the Year 1992, Best Working Fleet in AVRO (Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators) and Best Service Van at the Peterborough Truck Show. Mike Parsons is a C.A.E. (Certified Automotive Engineer), a fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry (F.I.M.I.), a fellow of the Institute of Diagnostic Engineers (F.I. Diage), a member of the Institute of Vehicle Recovery Operators (M.I.V.R.), a member of the Institute of Transport Administration (M.Inst), a member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (A.M.I.R.T.E.) and Chairman of AVRO, Region Eight.
He also serves as the U. K. representative for Friends of Towing. M. R. Parsons has remained on the leading edge of a rapidly changing industry in the U. K. His operation often serves as a
model for public officials who seek to improve auto services in other regions.
Mike routinely shares his knowledge and professional operation with others. M. R. “Mike” Parsons represents the true meaning of the term “professional operator”.

Innovation of a product sold in the marketplace that has helped move the industry forward. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of service to the industry.
Exemplary Dedication
Candidate must have 20 years running a towing business in an outstanding and exemplary manner, promoting a positive image of the towing industry and have positive relations with the community, i.e., performing services for the community about and beyond the services for hire. Limit: One inductee per year.
Industry Leadership
Leadership involved with an outstanding project that has had a dynamic and lasting effect on the towing industry. Candidate must have minimum 10 years service to the towing industry.
Professional Achievement
Creating a product or service of any kind that has had a significant and lasting effect on thousands of towing professionals. Candidate Must have a minimum of 10 years to the industry.
