Donna Bookout-Coe
Following her graduation from Bakersfield College in 1961, Donna pursued a career in the legal field. She first entered the towing industry in May of 1978 with the purchase of a small, two truck operation in Bakersfield, which she developed into a highly successful business through the adaptation of innovative management strategies. Following the sale of her company in 1991, Donna returned to college to earn a degree in Human Resource Management, a field she now actively pursues as lecturer on behalf of her recently formed management consulting firm.
Throughout her career in the Towing and Recovery Industry, Donna has always given much more to her industry and community than she has taken. As an active member of CITA, she served as its President in1987 and 1988, which named her its Member of the Year Award in 1987. WTRAA named her the Tow Woman of the Year in 1992. In TRAA she now serves as Fourth Vice President and received the Presidential Award in 1993 for her work as Parliamentarian and By-Laws Chair.
Tow Times magazine presented Donna Coe and her company with the National Most Beautiful Facility A ward in 1985. On regional level, Donna Coe has been featured in television news reports, local programs and The Bakersfield Californian, the daily newspaper. She has also been honored by the Insurance Brokers of Kern County, The Bakersfield City Fire Department and Bakersfield City Council which proclaimed a “Donna Bookout Day” in honor of the many contributions of her company and employees to the community.
Donna Bookout-Coe is a lady of considerable talent who today chooses to share her expertise in towing and recovery management with our industry through the many seminars and lectures she conducts. On the local, regional and national levels, Donna continues to give much more than her fair share back to our industry and is, thusly, deserving of this high honor.
